All parts of our body have their different work. If our body moves, then we notice it is done by bones and their joints. Will all bones move in the same direction? No, all bones have different moving capacities; it depends on the joint of the bone. Let’s discuss the different types of joints in our body.
Joints and their type:
- Ball and socket joints
In this joint, a bone is fixed with another bone. The fix bones will shape like a ball; in this ball-shaped other bones joint. In this joint movement will be done in a round shape, up and down. An example of this joint is our hand bone and shoulder and our hip and leg bones.
- Pivotal Joint
In this joint, bones can move left, right, up, and down but are unable to move like ball and socket joints; they can’t move round but can move in a ring shape. An example of this is our neck and head joint.
- Hinge Joints
In this type of joint movement, movement can be done only in one direction (forward or back). Example knee and our elbow joints.
- Fixed Joints
In this joint, any kind of movement is not done. Upper jow and head joint.
Skeleton and it’s parts:
Skeleton: –
All bones of our body make a structure to give the shape of our body. This structure which is made by these bones is called a skeleton.
Now we discussed different types of bones, which are part of the skeleton. In the birth of a human, it has 305 bones in the skeleton, but when it gets older, it has 206 bones. According to time, some bones are fused together.
Carples
The group of bones of the hand (fingers bones, palm bones, wrist bones) is known as the Carples. It helps our hand movements to hold something and other movements by finger.
Rib Cage
The group of bones of the lung and backbone to form a cage-like structure is known as the rib cage. 12 ribs are present on each side of the chest. It helps to protect some internal parts of the body, like the heart.
Backbone
From head to heaps area in back side of body is known as name of backbone. It helps out back to bend and hold the complete body.
Vertabrae
The backbone is made of many small bones; these small bones are known as the names of vertebrae. These are 33 in number. Rib cage is joint is joint from vertebrae.
Palvic Bones
This bone is present in the lower of our stomach and it’s joint with our legs. With the help of this bone, we are able to sit.
Skull
The bone group of the face and head is known as the skull. It protects our mind and other internal parts of the body.
As we discussed above, there are many types of joints and bones. If you notice, all of these are hard in nature. But there are many bones in our body, which are not hard in nature. Those bones in our body that are not hard and easily bent are called cartilage. An example of cartilage is bone of the ear.
Role of muscle in body movements –
Bones are always work in pair. If one bone stretches, then the second will relax. Bones help in body movement to provide support for the bones to hold the movements.
Gait of Animals
After human body movements, now we have to discuss the gait of animals. We will discuss some animals gait.
Earthworm
The body of an earthworm is made up of many ring-type structures that are connected to each other end to end. Earthworms have no bones in their bodies; they are made up only of muscles. When it wants to move its extent to the front part of the body and keep its body fixed to the ground. Then it fixes the front part to the ground and releases the other part of the body. By this process, earthworms move.
Cockroach
It can walk, climb, and fly easily because it has legs and wings. Cockroach have three pairs of legs and two pairs of wings. The body is covered with a hard skeleton, which is made up of group plates.
Birds
Birds can fly in the air and walk on the ground. Some birds can swim easily. Birds are able to fly because of their body structure and their hollow and light bones.
Fish
The shape of fish plays an important role in the movement of fish. Fish shape is shrink from ends and wider from middle. This kind of shape is called streamlined. The body of a fish is made of strong muscles. When fish move in water, the front part of the body makes a curve in the water with flow and ends in the opposite direction. By this process, fish movement is done.
Snake
Snakes have a long backbone and many thin muscles. All muscles are connected to each other. Muscles, backbone, ribs, and skin are interconnected with each other. Snake bodies make many loops; every loop provides pressure to push from the ground. Due to the loop, it can’t be moved in a straight line.
