Introduction of Class 6 Science Chapter 10 Notes NCERT Motion and Measurement of Distance –
In Class 6 Science Chapter 10 Notes NCERT Motion and Measurement of Distance, we will discuss the types of motions and how we can measure the distance after motions. Class 6 Science Chapter 10 Notes NCERT Motion and Measurement of Distance is basic toward the distance and motion. In this chapter we will learn what motion is and how we can measure the distance of any object and distance covered by a moving object. What kind of major errors are done by us, and how can we avoid them? What is the standard measurement unit for international?
Notes Class 6 Science Chapter 10 Notes NCERT Motion and Measurement of Distance: -
In previous chapters of class 6 science, we studied food, plants, body parts, and clothes; now we are moving forward to the interesting chapter of class 6 science chapter 10 notes ncert, Motion and Measurement of Distance. We notice some objects are still in the same position, but some of them are moving and changing their positions according to time. Now we will study this motion.
Motion: -
Change in position of any object according to time and covering some distance is called motion. It can be external and internal motion. According to different types of motion, it can explain different types of motion, which are explained below:
Type of Motion:-
- Rectilinear Motion—In this type of motion, the object moves in a straight line.
- Circular Motion – In this type of motion, the object moves in a circular shape.
- Rotational Motion – In this type of motion, the object moves on its own axis. It’s a type of circular motion.
- Periodic Motion – In this type of motion, the object repeats its own move in a fixed time.
Transport: -
After the study of motion, now we have to understand transport and how it expands with technology.
Transport: –
Moving objects from one point to another with the help of others (it can be animals or any machine).
History of Transport: -
- In ancient times, human life transport was done by animals or humans themselves.
- After the discovery of the wheel, it can be done by animals with the help of additional boggy, which is easier than old systems.
- After the wheel was discovered, now human life is easier, but then humans discovered and made the car and other machines in the 19th and 20th centuries, which are the most easy to transport. By machine it is less time-consuming and easy to transport heavy objects easily.
If transport is done, then the most common question raised is based on distance. In class 6 science chapter 10 notes, we will study the distance.
Distance: -
The space between two points or two objects is called distance. For example, if you are at home and your friend is at their home, the space between you and your friend is called distance.
Lenght: -
It is used to know how long an object is.
After these basic terms of measurement, we know what measurement is and how it works.
Measurement: -
It is comparisons between the known quantity and unknown quantity of an object. The known quantity is called a unit. So it is simple measurement that consists of two parts: unit and quantity.
Standard Units: -
There are different methods and systems for the measurement of any object in different countries. So it is necessary to apply the standard unit system for equal and correct measurement worldwide. This system is known as the international system of units (SI units). Some basic SI units are given below:
- Time – second
- Weight – Kilogram
- Length – Meter
Why is a Standard unit required?
There are many measurement units for the same object, like for distance: foot, meter, kilometer, and centimeters, so from an international point of view, it is necessary that the value of measurement will be the same
Rule of SI Units: -
- Symbols of units are always written in small letters.
- No full stop needed after a symbol until it is not in the last of a sentence.
- It is always in single form, not in plural form.
How can we measure the length of a circular shape of undefined shape?
With the help of a straight scale, we can easily measure the length of any straight object, but it is impossible to measure the right length of a circular shape. We can take a string or strip and cut it as the round of a circle, and now we can measure the length.
Some basic instruction for measurement –
- The scale should be placed with the object along its length.
- Kindly check if the starting point of the scale should be zero; if it is not zero, you can measure it by subtracting how many numbers are missing.
- The eye position during the measurement should be parallel or straight to the scale.
